Alang is a Rice Granary from Toraja - South Sulawesi. A boat Shaped roof building. Inspired From Torajan ancestor who coming from north china and shipwrected their boat. then, settled in toraja highlands.
Alang commonly with six pillars as support and a platform to sitting, working and conversation in the community. There is some function of alang ; As a Harvest storage building, a high social status seating area when held a traditional ceremony, and some area are used for hand weaving place to creaate a toraja traditional textile called paruki.
Alang also symbolize as a father a provider, and Mother as Tongkonan.
